The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today that its technology division, NAB Labs, has joined the Dingman Center Angels as an investor. The Dingman Center Angels is a program of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business that provides funding to early-stage companies located within the Mid-Atlantic region.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In regards to a study and ex parte filing submitted with the Federal Communications Commission on the reallocation of local television stations following the broadcast spectrum incentive auction, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that Alison Neplokh, the Federal Communications Commission’s deputy chief technologist, will join NAB as vice president, Spectrum Policy on December 14. Neplokh comes to NAB after serving for more than a decade at the FCC.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), producer of NAB Show and Content & Communications World (CCW), featuring SATCON, announced today it is rebranding the CCW event, which will now be called “NAB Show New York.” Attracting some 7,000 attendees annually and showcasing a full range of next-generation technology for media and entertainment professionals, the newly named NAB Show New York is taking place today and tomorrow at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Recruiter registration for the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s (NABEF) Media Sales Institute (MSI) is now open. The Media Sales Institute is an intensive 10-day program that trains young professionals for careers in media sales. Recruiters from broadcast stations and groups, have the opportunity to observe program participants in sales presentations to local clients, conduct one-on-one interviews at the conclusion of the program and earn Equal Employment Opportunity credit for their respective companies.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- NAB announced today that the “Alison & Adam Memorial Fund” established to support families of the victims of this summer’s Roanoke TV shooting has raised $88,175. The National Association of Broadcasters and the Radio Television Digital News Association launched the fund to accept donations from broadcasters on behalf of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, who were tragically killed August 26 by a former employee of WDBJ-TV, Roanoke, a CBS affiliate owned by Schurz Communications.

The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF) is now accepting entries for the 2016 Celebration of Service to America Awards, recognizing outstanding community service by local broadcasters. Winners will be honored at the Celebration of Service to America gala, held Tuesday, June 21 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
