WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to a markup this morning by the House Energy & Commerce Committee of FCC process reform legislation, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

This year’s NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show will be hosted by top-rated syndicated radio personality Rickey Smiley. The event will take place October 1 at the 2015 Radio Show, produced by the National Association of Broadcasters and Radio Advertising Bureau, and held at the Marriott Marquis Atlanta.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to a letter from 87 Members of Congress to leadership in the House of Representatives opposing tax reform proposals that would modify the tax deduction for the cost of business advertising, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, DC -- Three members of the House of Representatives and two Senators have been added as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution now has 194 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 18 in the Senate.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Two members of the House of Representatives and one Senator have been added as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution now has 196 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 19 in the Senate.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for the 2015 NAB Marconi Radio Awards, honoring radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. The winners will be announced October 1 at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, sponsored by HD Radio and held during the 2015 Radio Show in Atlanta.
