WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to a letter from several Democratic Senators to the FCC asking that the Commission preserve its rules regarding whether the pay-TV industry is "effectively competitive" in each market, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, DC -- Six members of the House of Representatives and one Senator have been added as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution now has 183 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 16 in the Senate, one more than the 15 Senators who co-sponsored the resolution in the previous Congress.

Renowned actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise will receive the 2015 Service to America Leadership Award from the NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) for his ongoing commitment to raising awareness and support for veterans. Sinise will receive the award at NABEF’s Celebration of Service to America Gala on June 16.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Four members of the House of Representatives have been added as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution now has 191 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 16 in the Senate.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and Broadcast Education Association (BEA) today announced the first-ever Radio Show Student Scholars Program in which 130 undergraduate and graduate students will be awarded registration scholarships and special access to the 2015 Radio Show, held September 30-October 2 in Atlanta. The program is designed to encourage and prepare students for successful careers in radio.
