About the Role:
As News Producer, you’ll:
- Oversee the day-to-day production of newscasts, setting the content and flow of each broadcast.
- Collaborate with management, anchors, and on-air staff to generate stories and produce engaging content for multiple platforms.
- Take ownership of newscast quality, ensuring each broadcast is both informative and visually compelling.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Solid News Judgment: You know what makes a story impactful.
- Strong Writing Skills: A compelling, accurate writing style that resonates with audiences.
- Time Management & Multitasking Abilities: Manage your workload effectively, even on tight deadlines.
- Leadership & Communication Skills: Ability to motivate and direct a team toward a common goal.
- Adaptability: On-the-spot problem-solving and flexibility are essential in our fast-paced environment.
Experience Requirements:
- Some experience producing news at a commercial TV station is preferred, though entry-level candidates with the right skills may be considered.
- A journalism degree is preferred, but equivalent experience is welcome.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems like iNews is preferable.
