Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler will speak at the 2015 NAB Show in Las Vegas, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today. The address, which will be held Wednesday, April 15, 9:00-10:00 a.m., is expected to provide insight into the FCC’s policy and regulatory objectives related to broadcasting, technology and communications law generally.

The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that radio engineer Thomas F. King of Kintronic Labs and television innovator Richard M. Friedel of Fox have been named the 2015 recipients of the NAB Engineering Achievement Awards. In addition, an NAB Service to Broadcast Engineering Award will be presented to Ray Conover, senior engineering consultant for Hubbard Broadcasting. The recipients will be honored at the NAB Show Technology Luncheon on Wednesday, April 15 in Las Vegas.

The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA) signals Members of Congress's opposition to any potential legislation that would impose new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Ninety-four Members of the House of Representatives signed on as original co-sponsors of a bipartisan resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations that was introduced in Congress yesterday. The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA) signals Members of Congress's opposition to any potential legislation that would impose new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay.

NAB Show, the world’s largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, will feature sessions, workshops, and panels discussing today’s content landscape and the prominent role that over-the-top (OTT) video delivery is playing within it. The convention takes place April 11 – 16 in Las Vegas.

A bipartisan group of 15 Representatives signed on yesterday as co-sponsors of a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA) now has 109 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives.

Daniel Myrick, writer, editor, and director of “The Blair Witch Project” will keynote Post | Production World (P|PW) at NAB Show, which takes place in Las Vegas in April. Myrick’s session is scheduled for Sunday, April 12 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
