LAS VEGAS, NV – The National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC) today adopted an updated NRSC Guideline that focuses on recommendations for broadcasters and receiver manufacturers in the use of the Radio Data System (RDS) data broadcasting technology.

LAS VEGAS, NV -- National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) President and CEO Gordon Smith called on federal regulators to develop a National Broadcast Plan during his keynote address at the opening session of NAB Show 2014. Smith called on policymakers to develop a holistic regulatory approach that ensures radio and television broadcasting are not disadvantaged in the marketplace due to government bias towards other forms of media.

Las Vegas, Nevada – The NAB Show, the world's largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, today began with a State of the Broadcast Industry Address from Gordon Smith, president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and a slate of sessions showcasing how the media industry's brightest "channel opportunity" in today's rapidly-shifting marketplace. More than 93,000 audio, video, and film content professionals are expected to attend this year's NAB Show, which runs through Thursday, April 10 in Las Vegas.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A bipartisan group of nine members of the House of Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors of a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act is now currently co-sponsored by a coalition of 215 Members of the House and 14 Senators. The resolution will achieve a majority of support in the House of Representatives with the co-sponsorship of an additional three Members of Congress.

Las Vegas, Nevada – The NAB Show, the world's largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, today featured a discussion between Gordon Smith, president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Tom Wheeler, chairman of the FCC,as well as a keynote presentation from Mark Ramberg of Amazon Web Services and a Super Session that featured former FCC Chairman Robert McDowell and others debating the future and implications of net neutrality.

Las Vegas, NV -- The National Association of Broadcasters today released preliminary figures for the 2014 NAB Show, the world's largest electronic media event covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums.
