WASHINGTON, DC -- John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions NY, will deliver the keynote address at the 2014 Content and Communications World (CCW), held November 12-13 in New York. CCW+SATCON, produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), is the East Coast's most significant content and communications event.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the NAB Marconi Radio Awards, this year's celebration will feature five previous NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show hosts - Ron Chapman, Edgar "Shoboy" Sotelo, "Big Boy," and Bob Kevoian and Tom Griswold of the "The Bob & Tom Show." Together the hosts will serve as emcees and presenters throughout the evening. Sponsored by iBiquity Digital Corporation, the event will take place September 11 at the 2014 Radio Show in Indianapolis.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will produce four sessions at the SET Expo in São Paulo, Brazil, August 24-25. The sessions will address topics ranging from sports production, 4K video, media management in the cloud, and producing content for multiple devices. NAB's participation in SET is part of the NAB Show Collaborative, an initiative to support the advancement of the global broadcast, media and entertainment communities.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Consent Decrees governing the licensing of musical works performance rights by ASCAP and BMI provide important protections for licensees from potential anti-competitive behavior by the performance rights organizations (PROs) and their protections should be maintained in full, NAB said in comments filed today with the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The rationale underlying several decades-old media ownership rules that broadcast television stations only compete against themselves in local markets is simply not true, the National Association of Broadcasters said in comments filed today with the FCC. The Commission should adjust its rules to better reflect today and tomorrow's marketplace that features competition from rival industries as it weighs relaxing ownership restrictions, NAB said.

WASHINGTON, DC -- In response to a proposal by Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller and Ranking Member John Thune to attach a plan called "Local Choice" to a Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act reauthorization bill, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

The 2014 Radio Show will feature FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai, who will engage in a conversation with NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith at the Radio Luncheon, held Friday, September 12. The 2014 Radio Show, jointly produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), will be held September 10-12 in Indianapolis.
