WVVA in Bluefield, WV, a Gray Local Media station, is looking for our next Anchor/ Multimedia Journalist (Wknd).
If you’re a journalist looking for a position that includes an anchor role, this might be the opportunity you have been waiting for!
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic journalist to anchor our weekend newscasts and tell the stories of our community three days per week. This candidate should have solid editorial judgement and excel in breaking news situations.
We want journalists who search for stories and seek answers for our viewers. This position includes opportunity and training in all aspects of TV news, including anchoring and utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Prior producing experience is a plus.

Duties (including but not limited to):
- Anchor weekend newscasts.
- Assist in producing shows.
- Strong journalistic ethics, news judgement and decision making.
- Effective communicator with viewers and staff.
- Develop sources and present and turn story ideas that resonate with our audience daily.
- Shoot, write and edit compelling coverage for all platforms.
- Appear on air and coordinate live shots.
- Use digital and social media to find, develop, tell stories and engage the audience.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize assignments.
Qualifications (including but not limited to):
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred.
- Two years of multi-platform reporting, shooting and editing experience preferred.
- Must have valid driver’s license and pass drivers record check.
