WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the introduction by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) of the Consumer Drone Safety Act, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

George G. Beasley, chairman, chief executive officer and founder of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc., will receive the National Radio Award during the Radio Luncheon on Wednesday, September 30. The 2015 Radio Show, produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), will be held September 30-October 2 in Atlanta.

The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) announced today that the 2015 Broadcast Leadership Training (BLT) class graduated this month, following a ten-month, Executive MBA-style program that teaches the fundamentals of purchasing, owning and operating radio and television stations.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced today that Lieutenant General John “Jay” Raymond, Commander, 14th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic), Air Force Space Command and Commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, will provide the keynote for SATCON, part of NAB’s Content and Communications World (CCW), on Thursday, November 12. CCW will be held November 11-12 in New York City.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Senate Commerce Committee today passed bipartisan legislation that would grandfather existing sharing arrangements between local television stations in place before March 31, 2014. The legislation passed the Committee on a recorded vote of 14-10. The following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Dave Lougee, president of Gannett Broadcasting, has been unanimously elected as NAB joint board chairman by the NAB Joint Board of Directors. Lougee takes over from Charles Warfield, senior advisor of YMF Media LLC, whose term expired.

The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) today announced internship placements for the 2015 Technology Apprenticeship Program (TAP). TAP exposes high-tech graduates and professionals to the broadcast industry through a six month, hands-on training program that includes a two-month internship.
