WASHINGTON, DC -- In response to the proposed merger of AT&T and DirecTV, the following statement can be attributed to NAB Executive Vice President of Communications Dennis Wharton:

Future Media Concepts (FMC) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will present the NY Post|Production Conference during the 2014 Content and Communications World (CCW) and Satellite Communications Conference and Expo (SATCON), held November 12-13 in New York. New to CCW+SATCON, the training workshop is designed for editors, producers, directors and motion graphics designers, as well as new media professionals in production and post, commercial video, distribution and delivery, and independent film.

The NAB Education Foundation's (NABEF) 2014 Celebration of Service to America Awards, will feature ABC's "Good Morning America" entertainment correspondent Rachel Smith as emcee. Additionally, music artist Vicci Martinez, a season one finalist on NBC's "The Voice," will perform the "National Anthem." Held Tuesday, June 17 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., the gala recognizes broadcasters for outstanding service to their local communities.

The 2014 Radio Show Technology Program, produced by NAB Labs in cooperation with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), will address developments in AM and hybrid radio among other technology and engineering issues impacting Radio. The Radio Show, held September 10-12 in Indianapolis, is produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

WASHINGTON, DC -- NAB announced today it intends to file a petition at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit challenging the Federal Communications Commission's 3-2 decision on March 31 prohibiting joint sales agreements between two television stations, while failing to complete a required review of its broadcast ownership restrictions.

WASHINGTON, DC -- A bipartisan group of three Members of the House of Representatives and one Senator has joined the coalition co-sponsoring a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. With their co-sponsorship, there are 222 Members of the House and 15 Senators who have signed on to support the Local Radio Freedom Act.
