Evening News Anchor

WVVA, the NBC Affiliate in Bluefield, WV, is looking for the next leader of our award-winning evening newscasts. We are looking for someone who can help lead a team of journalists and help produce and execute top-notch newscasts. We are the legacy station that defines news for the two Virginias.  On a daily basis, we demonstrate being “here for you.”

We are looking for a leader in both our newsroom and in the region.  The perfect candidate is innovative and dedicated to working with others in a team-oriented environment as well as highly-connected and involved in community affairs and activities. 

This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate has reporting and anchoring experience and now wants to connect with the audience on an even greater level. In addition to anchoring, the job duties will also include reporting, live shots, story enterprising and development, script approvals, script writing and video editing.

WVVA is committed to producing award-winning content on multiple platforms, including mobile, web and social media.  The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of how to effectively use these kinds of digital media and help lead others in producing quality digital content on a daily basis.
