EEO Outreach and Job Opportunity Fulfillment
As part of an ongoing effort to help stations fulfill EEO requirements, the WVBA has two scripts 30-second EEO spots. The first spot pertaining to job opportunities and the second, community outreach. When used in conjunction with the WVBA website they serve as another source to help complete EEO obligations.
Here’s how the program works…the spots tell listeners if they are interested in a career in broadcasting, they can log on to wvba.com and go to job opportunities. At this point they can see the jobs available in WV (which each station can post their own station’s openings) or move onto opportunities across the country. You then run monthly affidavits on this spot and place it in your pubic file.
The second spot pertains to the different organizations you should be making aware of job openings at your stations. The interested organizations are asked to contact you or the WVBA web-site and sign up to have job listings emailed to them so they can inform their members.
The WVBA website has an EEO section where the postings can be submitted or retrieved daily. If you are unclear how this works, please call the WVBA and we can walk you through the site.
