The WVBA is proud to continually cultivate a growing relationship with high schools across the state that have broadcast curriculums.  The association is dedicated to helping the schools, teachers, and student’s progress in the field of broadcasting through grant programs, scholarships, and educational seminars.

Student GrantsBroadcasting careers take many paths from working in front of the camera, to work in programming, production to engineering, etc.  We feel by engaging students in these high school programs, we can help bring about a better awareness of the industry.

High School Broadcast Day

Every two years the WVBA partners with a university to present an all day seminar for high school broadcast students.   Students get a first hand look at college life and a college curriculum.  Students also get the chance to meet professionals in the broadcast industry and learn about the different careers within a station.

The 2006 event took place on November 8th at Marshall University with almost 300 students attending.
